Apostle Paul Blake is the Pastor of Paul Blake Ministries International (PBM). From a toddler he was always involved in music. His dad was the director of the Band for the Jamaica Constabulary Force, the national police force. Years later at his high school, Kingston College (KC), he was selected to be a part of the choir, one of the very best in the Caribbean. There he was professionally trained. A little before graduating he started singing at secular concerts, where he excelled. He was the runner up in the first acclaimed Tastee Talent Competition in 1979, a national Jamaican singing competition.
After being encouraged to write and record his own songs by his mom, a former teacher, he started recording and his very first song ‘Rub a dub soldier’ topped the charts. His second hit song ‘Every posse get flat’ far outsold the first one. He later went on his own and recorded with friends ‘Give Peace a Chance’ a song calling for peaceful elections in Jamaica; the song is still very highly rated today. For this effort he received many accolades and awards. Coming from a secular musical background Pastor Paul was the lead singer and co-founder of the internationally acclaimed Reggae Band ‘The Blood Fire Posse.’ He then spent many years singing cabaret on the “North Coast” part of the island, where a large selection of the Jamaican hotel industry is located due to the beautiful beaches, sunrises and sunsets.
He rededicated his life to Jesus Christ after the death of his dad in 1991 and felt convicted to leave the North Coast and go into ministry. Apostle Paul was the Worship leader at Family Church on the Rock under Pastor David Keane, for many years. In addition to leading Paul Blake Ministries, he is also currently the Music Minister/Worship leader at Faith Fellowship Ministries Jamaica, which is now called Lighthouse of Faith Ministries under Pastor Phillip Gordon.
Pastor Paul and Pastor Dorrett Blake started Sold Out Ministries International in 1997, ministering in hospitals, prisons, schools and on the streets. Eventually God led them to start a Street Church for the homeless in 2006 and subsequently Acts of the Holy Spirit Ministries International in 2009. God spoke again and told them to move to Mandeville and start a Ministry there and they obeyed.
Pastor Paul has two children, a son, Stephen known as the “Dancehall Pastor” as he is called to minister in the dancehalls and inner cities and a daughter, Tiffany; he also has two beautiful grandchildren.
Pastor Paul has an unwavering passion for the Lord and to do His will. He is fully committed to spreading the gospel of Jesus to the world through the spoken Word of God and inspiring music.
